Main / About Assotiation Hello dear friends! We are warmly welcome you on Russian Quilters Association web-site. Patchwork sewing is the ancient folk art, which is undergoing its rebirth nowadays. From the beginning of 90s of the last century its impetuous renascence began. In many Russian towns and villages patchwork masterpieces are created by talented and skilful hands of craftsmen. Russian Quilters Association was established in December 2004 and consolidates the best creative resources of Russian quilting and this is over then 20 societies and more then 50 independent craftsmen of patchwork. Our main goal is support and development of patchwork art in Russia and popularization of our creative work abroad. We conduct exhibitions and competitions, take part in festivals, such as All-Russian festival in Ivanovo, “quilt” festivals in Saint Petersburg, Vladimir, Ekaterinburg, Novosibirsk. We organize travels abroad for Russian craftsmen to take part in exhibitions, festivals and hold meetings with foreign artists of quilting. We are glad to collaborate with foreign partners who are interested in development and advancement of quilting in Russia and other countries. We are interested in an information interchange on forthcoming events in the patchwork field, exhibitions, festivals arranging in Russia and other countries. We are ready to share an experience, improve our technique, learn about gifted craftsmen and their work, familiarize with new publications and exchange with professional literature. One of the most important scopes is giving a reception for foreign craftsmen and amateurs of our art in Russian cities. We worked out and put into practice unique travelling program “Round quilt cities of Russia”. During this program we organize both a reception for the tourist's groups and ensure individual visits in such towns as Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Susdal and others. We suggest sightseeing programs, guarantee an accommodation, organize meetings and seminars in leading quilt societies, acquaint with the most interesting craftsmen and their work. Also we organize teaching masterclasses of patchwork technique for professionals and amateurs. We invite everyone, who likes bright, festive art of our craftsmen, to visit a trade exhibition of quilt craftsmen works on the page exposition. You can order and buy any of presented works. Also we can make some works to individual order. We offer collaboration to patchwork professionals. We are prepared for taking part in any joint programs with foreign partners. We are interested in organization of international quilting projects concerned with conducting of festivals, exhibitions, masterclasses, publication of professional literature.
